> Chawky FRENN
Frenn is currently Associate Professor at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He exhibits extensively, nationally and internationally. He had shows in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, and Paraguay. He participated in many museum exhibits including the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in New Castle, PA; Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport, CT; Erie Art Museum in Erie, PA; Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, NY; and Sursock Museum in Beirut, Lebanon.
Frenn has received numerous awards: the Teaching Excellence Award from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, in 2009; the Blanche E. Colman Award from Mellon Trust in Boston, MA, in 1998; the Stacey Scholarship Award from the National Academy of Western Art in Oklahoma City, OK; the Sheldon Bergh Award USA and Basil H. Alkazzi Award in London, England, both in 1993; and the Gibran Khalil Gibran Foundation Grant in Boston, MA, in 1982, 1983, and 1984.

Born in Zahlé, Lebanon, in 1960. In 1985, Chawky Frenn receives a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA, and in 1988, he completed his MFA at the Tyler School of Art of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, finishing the second year of graduate studies at Temple Abroad in Rome, Italy. He taught at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA; Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA; and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in Edinboro, PA.
